SELF PORTRAIT A DAY (WEEK?)

Number 14
At our public library's Friends of the Library bookstore I found a free copy of a congressional journal and thought it would make great collage and drawing backgrounds. So here's my first time using it.

A drawing I made at Carla Jimison's house on art night. It shows little bits of her studio put into one drawing.

PORTRAIT A DAY

I am behind on my self-portraits. I was busy working every spare minute trying to finish a quilt top for a show. So I am behind but I am still going to keep with my numbering system but the numbers won't match the dates anymore. This has been an interesting project. Each drawing represents how I feel. I've decided to do a little bit of journaling with each portrait. Then I will have a journal as well as a self-portrait. Even if no one else looks at them, this is good for me.
Number 10-This one is self-explanatory.

Number 11-I tried a three-quarter view with a larger marker. It turned out rather wacky but oh well!

Number 12-I missed a few days because of my quilt project but here I am at the county fair.

Number 13-Read my note and you will understand this one!

Cows, Cows, Cows

Allan and I took our granddaughters to the county fair. I had to take a picture of the cows since I have been feverishly trying to finish the quilt top in time to send it to the quilter. I am entering it in a show called Cow Stampede.

Lillee and Chaylee with the cows (well, calves.)
Aren't they adorable?
We had to check out the pigs because our granddaughters wanted to see if they could find Charlotte.
I just threw this picture in because I thought it was so cute. We went to the park the day after the fair.
While I was appliqueing my quilt I randomly selected a book from my grandchildren's book basket. I didn't even look at it. I placed it under my quilt so I could have a steady surface to sew on. Imagine my surprise when I pulled the book out from under the quilt and saw that I had randomly chosen the book Cows in the Kitchen!
Then the next night at the dinner table my granddaughter was playing with a word flip book and this is the page she was on. The word cow  in four languages!
Finally on Monday, I finished the top. Just in time to mail it to the quilter. I finished it in two weeks! And my granddaughters were with us 80% of the time. I stayed up a lot of nights until 2:00 a.m.

I HAVE A NEW CHALLENGE

I have decided to draw a self portrait every day. I can not spend more than an hour on each one. Here are the ones I have done so far. (I cheated and added some I did a long time ago so I can have one for every day of August.)

Number 1
Number 2 (I drew this when I was depressed)
Number 3 (Another therapeutic drawing)

Number 4

Number 5
Number 6
These are both number 7. They are contour drawings done with my eyes closed. I drew one then decided to do another one. I guess my brain was drawing the skinny me and the fat me. Funny.

Number 8
This one is freaky. This is me as Juliet. I look like I am thinking, "Get away from me Romeo, I know what trouble you are going to get me into!"
